Striker happy with recovery from injury

Tranmere striker Bas Savage has declared himself happy with his ongoing recovery from a long-term injury. Savage has been out of action since April with an Achilles problem, but after rejoining training before Christmas he is closing in on a return. He is still some distance from being considered for a first-team comeback, but is happy with the progress that is being made. Savage told the club's official website: "It's coming along. "I've started running and I've been in full training with the boys for around a month, doing what they're doing. "It's good to see how far I'm off because the boys are quicker, sharper and stronger than me. It's good for me to see where I need to get to. "There's only so much I can do. If I do one day hard the next day is usually a slow day because it takes time to recover. But most days are good days."
