Defender arrives on six-month deal

Port Vale have taken Lee Collins on a six-month loan deal from Championship side Wolves. The 19-year-old defender has yet to make a senior appearance for Mick McCarthy's side and has been allowed to continue his development away from Molineux. He spent the second half of last season on loan at Hereford and after helping the Bulls to promotion is hoping to help his new side make an immediate return to League One. "I am looking forward to it. The experience I gained on loan at Hereford last season can do nothing but help me," Collins told the club's official website. "I played in a side that won promotion and that did wonders for my confidence and I am hoping to do the same here." Collins added: "My first impressions are certainly good. Lee Sinnott seems a great manager, he has a great staff and a great ground to go with it."
