Striker Gary Mulligan is keen to leave Gillingham in the wake of the club's relegation to League Two.

And Stimson plans further reductions to squad

Striker Gary Mulligan is keen to leave Gillingham in the wake of the club's relegation to League Two. The Gills took up the option of extending Mulligan's contract at Priestfield by a further 12 months last week, but he has now told manager Mark Stimson he is keen to move on. Boss Stimson has no problem with the five-goal striker's ambition to remain in League One and has told interested parties to get in touch.

Honest

Stimson told Kent News: "Gary has been very honest with me and said he wants to stay in League One. "We had an option on his contract which we have taken out to keep him here for another year, so if he gets offers from League One sides they will have to talk to me." Stimson released five players last week and has hinted there could be more departures over the coming weeks. He added: "There are still one or two around us we would like to shift but they still have contracts which makes it a little harder. "I'm hoping by the time pre-season comes they will have gone."
