Chester have made another raid on the transfer market by signing Jamie Hand.

Hand was released by Northampton last week, which has allowed Chester chief Mark Wright to land him on a free transfer.

Wright, who signed John Danby last week, would appear to be a fan of Hand, having managed him during his time at Peterborough.

Ben Davies is being tipped to leave Chester, with chairman Stephen Vaughan revealing the midfielder has been targeted by Yeovil, Northampton and Bristol City.

Chester have lost the services of Chris MacKenzie, with the keeper rejecting a new contract offer to move to Shrewsbury.

Northampton, meanwhile, have released David Rowson, Gavin Johnson, Jason Lee, Matthew Gearing and Luke Graham.
