Rotherham United have agreed a deal to sign Northampton Town midfielder Lee Williamson.The 23-year-old has become unsettled at The Sixfields Stadium and the Derby-born midfielder is keen to return to nearer his roots.
He only joined Northampton on a two-year deal last September from Mansfield Town but Colin Calderwood has not blocked his exit.
The Cobblers boss has allowed Williamson to leave the club on a free transfer and the player will tie up his switch to Millmoor next week.
"Lee is a player I know a lot about as I saw him in his Mansfield Town days," Millers boss Mick Harford told the club's official website.
"He is very athletic and gets up and down the pitch. He is a central midfield player but he can also play on the left or the right but prefers to be in the middle.
"His signing will be completed by 1st July subject to a medical as we have agreed all the terms with no transfer fee involved."
