Notts County have agreed terms with Robert Ullathorne and expect to conclude the signing of the experienced defender on Wednesday.
The 32-year-old had a fine spell at Northampton last term and was offered a fresh deal at The Sixfields Stadium.
However, the former Sheffield United man is keen on a new challenge and has accepted the offer of a deal by The Magpies.
Ullathorne rose to prominence with Norwich City, before having spells with Spanish side Osasuna, Leicester and Sheffield United.
He signed for Northampton in February 2004 but has opted to move on and will ink a two-year deal later in the week.
