Sky Sports understands a host of clubs are weighing up a move for Port Vale midfielder Chris Lines.
Lines, 28, is out of contract this summer and he has yet to agree a new deal at Vale Park.
The news of Lines' possible availability on a free transfer has alerted a number of sides with the set-piece specialist impressing this season.
Vale are keen to keep Lines, who has established himself as a key player in Micky Adams' side since arriving from Sheffield Wednesday last summer.
However, they face fierce competition to keep their man with the likes of Bradford, Coventry, Oldham and Gillingham all tracking the midfield playmaker.
