Sky Sports understands Ashley Vincent looks set to leave Port Vale after failing to agree a new deal at Vale Park.
Vincent has one year to run on his current contract and Vale were keen to offer him a new deal to extend his stay at the club.
However, terms have not been agreed and Vincent is resigned to leaving for pastures new this summer.
"I have really enjoyed my spell at Port Vale and to get promoted was a massive achievement by the boys," Vincent told Sky Sports. "I am sure they will do well next season.
"I have unfortunately not been able to agree a new deal and I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds."
Vincent played a key role in Vale's promotion to League One this season, scoring seven goals, and a number of clubs are thought to be weighing up a move for the former Wolves youngster.
Rotherham have been linked with a move for Vicent after trying to sign him prior to his move to Vale Park, but the 27-year-old admits a switch to the Millers is unlikely.
"I won't be going there as they wanted me before and I chose Port Vale at the time," he said.
"I've got nothing sorted as yet, I am just going to have a break with my family for a bit.
"I hear a few clubs may be in for me, but we will have to see what happens."
