Port Vale midfielder Darren Murphy has had his contract at the League Two club terminated by mutual consent.
The 27-year-old Irishman, who joined the Valiants in the summer from Stevenage, leaves after making just three appearances for Micky Adams' side.
Adams told Vale's official website: "Darren is a model professional and, although he hasn't made as many first-team appearance as he would have liked at Vale Park, we wish him well for the future."
