Port Vale manager Micky Adams could not believe his side lost 2-0 in their League Two encounter at Accrington on Tuesday.
Vale had a number of clear-cut chances in the game but lacked composure in front of goal as they went down 2-0.
Ashley Vincent was clean through at 1-0 in injury-time - just before Stanley made it 2-0 - but fired horribly wide.
"We did everything but score and it just didn't fall for us," said Adams. "We created a lot of chances but we couldn't take them.
"It's not the end of the world as it's only two games and we have got to take the positives and not be too despondent and too down.
"We have a decent squad, we will be competitive and it was just one of those nights."
