Dons boss focused on concluding signing of Hayes

Aberdeen manager Craig Brown has played down speculation he is trying to sign Crewe Alexandra winger Byron Moore. The 23-year-old is out of contract at Crewe and has been offered a new two-year deal to stay at Gresty Road following the club's promotion to League One. Moore has been linked with SPL duo Aberdeen and Hibernian as he considers his future, although Crewe boss Steve Davis has urged the wide-man to spend another season with the club. Crewe would not be entitled to any compensation if Moore moves to Scotland, but it appears that Aberdeen is unlikely to be his next port of call. With the Dons close to finalising a deal to bring in Inverness Caledonian Thistle winger Jonny Hayes on a free transfer, Brown appeared to rule out a bid for Moore. Brown is quoted in The Sentinel: "Byron Moore is a new name to me. "We have done our best to get Hayes, and it is our understanding he will join us after his summer break."
