AFC Wimbledon have signed young midfielder Billy Knott on a month's loan from Premier League outfit Sunderland.

The 19-year-old, who can also play at left-back, is in line to make his Dons debut against Port Vale on Saturday. Boss Terry Brown told the club's official website: "Billy has a great range and weight of passing and will give us a goalscoring threat from outside the box." Knott joined Sunderland after leaving Chelsea in 2010 and earned a call-up to the England Under-20 squad for the World Cup in Colombia. He becomes Brown's fifth signing of the transfer window, joining Callum McNaughton, George Moncur, Jason Euell and Byron Harrison at Kingsmeadow.
