Adams not planning to sign

Boss Micky Adams will not attempt to bring a player to Port Vale on loan despite the mounting injury crisis at the club.

Marc Richards (ankle), Gareth Owen (Achilles), Lewis Haldane (broken leg), Andrew Little, Ryan Burge and Ben Williamson (all knee) are facing varying spells on the sidelines, while Anthony Griffith and Gary Roberts will miss out against Cheltenham on Saturday due to suspension. While Chris Martin and Clayton McDonald could feature against the Robins as they attempt to shake off their respective thigh and knee problems, Adams believes his squad has enough quality to cope. "Injuries and suspensions will always kick in at some stage and ours are kicking in at this moment of time, but I'm confident that we have a good enough squad to cover for injured players," Adams told the club's official website. "We still haven't thought about the loan market at the moment as we still feel we have got a decent squad and we have got people who, despite having not featured recently, are itching to get a game - and they might get their opportunity sooner rather than later. "These players might now get an extended run in the team and it's an opportunity for them to show me what they can do, and if maybe they are the missing ingredients to our form."
