Port Vale striker Ben Williamson faces a spell on the sidelines after suffering a knee injury while playing for the reserves.
Williamson fell awkwardly during the game against Derby on Monday.
Subsequent scans have ruled out any serious damage, although the 22-year-old must wear a protective brace for the next two weeks while the swelling subsides.
Vale manager Micky Adams told the club's official website: "We will monitor the injury closely over the next few days but our main priority is allowing the swelling to settle."
