First-team coach Geoff Horsfield has praised the impact made by new signings Rob Kozluk and Liam Chilvers since arriving at Port Vale.
The defenders joined the club last Thursday - free agent Kozluk on a short-term contract and Chilvers on loan from Notts County - and made their full debuts against derby rivals Crewe two days later.
Horsfield insists the experienced duo are exactly what Vale have been missing after conceding 16 goals in nine league matches prior to last weekend's 1-1 draw at Gresty Road.
"I thought Rob and Liam were absolutely fantastic. They both did well and looked like they had been in there all season," Horsfield told the club's official website.
"I was at Sheffield United with Rob and I know he has quality and I have played against Liam a couple of times, so I know he is a good defender.
"I know both of them have not played that many games but I thought they did very well. They are two great signings and hopefully we can keep them for a little bit longer."
