Port Vale chief executive Perry Deakin insists money is available for Micky Adams to develop his first-team squad.
Deakin declared his candidacy to become a director at Vale Park on Wednesday. He has been in his current role with the npower League Two club for four months and has pledged to invest £100,000 if he receives the necessary approval from the shareholders.
Deakin revealed plans are in place for two trialists to come to the club in the near future.
He told the Sentinel: "In terms of a figure it would be ridiculous, and I am sure Micky would agree, if I came out and said we had this much to spend on signings.
"But Micky knows if he wants to bring in additional players that option is open to him, although, with the transfer window, we can only agree loan deals at the moment.
"We have a Cameroon international coming on trial very soon and we are also organising a trial for a striker from the United States."
