Veteran striker expected to move to Cyprus

Port Vale assistant manager Mark Grew admits it is unlikely the club will sign veteran striker Lloyd Owusu. The 34-year-old has been training with Vale after leaving Luton Town at the end of last season and the League Two club are keen to sign a new forward. However, Owusu has been offered a contract by a club in Cyprus and the former Brentford and Sheffield Wednesday frontman is tipped to accept that deal. "We would probably like to take one more player on board, but it won't be over the next couple of days," said Grew in The Sentinel. "Lloyd has been with us, but he is now in talks with a club in Cyprus. It's not 100 per cent though, and he will let us know what is going on so we'll wait and see. "We've already got Ben Williamson added from last year and Lewis Haldane is now benefiting from the pre-season training which he missed last summer."
