Tommo targets five victories

Goalkeeper Stuart Tomlinson insists Port Vale can get their promotion bid back on track by picking up away points.

The Valiants have won just one of their last eight games to leave them three points adrift of the play-off positions, but Tomlinson believes the challenge of facing their promotion rivals away from home will play to their strengths. "It might sound strange, but it will benefit us playing away against sides who have also got a lot to play for rather than teams who come to us set up to get men behind the ball, like Hereford or Lincoln," he told The Sentinel. "It will be a different game against Torquay on Saturday because they will be chasing a win, and if we can get in their faces we can get a result. "Five wins from five games is a big ask, but these are great games to be playing in. It is going to be a battle." Vale have won six matches away from home this season and their last nine games on the road have produced just six points.
