Double loan boost for Walsall

Martin Devaney has extended his loan spell with Walsall by a further month and been cleared for FA Cup action.

Devaney had been due to return to his parent club after Saturday's clash with non-league Fleetwood but he has now prolonged his stay and, along with on-loan Barnsley team-mate Liam Dickinson, will look to fire the Saddlers into the second round. The midfielder has been in impressive form since his arrival at the Banks's Stadium in October and manager Chris Hutchings is pleased to have secured his services for another month. "Martin has done well for us," he told the club's official website. "He is a real threat and is enjoying his football here. He's a winner who will put his foot in and make things happen. "I am delighted to be extending his loan and have him available for our FA cup game, which is an added bonus."
