Port Vale boss Micky Adams has confirmed he could bring in two new faces this month.
The Vale boss has been given the green-light by his board to go ahead and bring in a couple of targets.
And Adams admits he knows who he would like to keep, saying: "I've got a few ideas as to who I would like to bring in.
"And I know the areas I'm looking to strengthen.
"I have had a discussion with the board about it and been told there might be some scope to get one or two in."
Vale are also hoping to secure the loan signing of Sean Rigg, having already completed a deal to keep his Bristol Rovers colleague Lewis Haldane.
"We are hoping something will be agreed towards the end of this week," said Adams.
"He did well while he was here and is someone who gives us options."
