Defender to join until end of season

Portsmouth defender Richard Duffy is poised to join Millwall on loan until the end of the season. Duffy has been loaned out several times since signing for Portsmouth in 2004 and most recently spent a couple of months with Coventry last year. He still does not figure in Tony Adams' plans for the immediate future and has now been allowed to link up with the Lions. Duffy worked with Millwall boss Kenny Jackett when he was at Swansea and will hope to make an impact for his new club. Jackett will be delighted to secure a deal for Duffy after skipper Paul Robinson suffered a foot injury which will keep him sidelined for some time. Millwall lost at home to Scunthorpe at the weekend but are still in the hunt for promotion from League One.
