Port Vale boss Lee Sinnott hopes to continue his rebuilding mission at Vale Park with the capture of Leicester City striker Louis Dodds and Barnsley midfielder Simon Heslop.

Dodds, 21, held talks earlier this week and is now mulling over a decision, while Sinnott was due to meet Heslop on Thursday.

"Even if both players agree to join Port Vale we will still have to talk to Leicester and Barnsley before we can take things further, but you are always hopeful you can do business," Sinnott told his club's official website.

Dodds has had previous loan spells with Lincoln City and Rochdale, while Heslop, 21, has played on loan in the Blue Square Premier with Kidderminster, Tamworth, Northwich and Halifax.
