Port Vale are confident of retaining the services of midfielder Chris Birchall.
Birchall has the chance to announce himself on the world stage this summer, as he will represent Trinidad & Tobago at the World Cup finals in Germany.
A decent showing could lead to interest in the midfielder, but League One Vale believe they will retain the 21-year-old for next term.
"Chris is contracted to Port Vale for another year after this and there's no way he'll be leaving in the summer," said Vale chairman Bill Bratt.
"I hope he has a great World Cup, and does himself and the club proud, before coming back and continuing his progress here with us.
"He's a loyal lad and has a bright future at Port Vale."
