Cheltenham Town have signed left back Mickey Bell from Port Vale.Cheltenham Town have signed left back Mickey Bell on a free transfer from League One side Port Vale.
The former Northampton Town and Wycombe Wanderers defender arrives at Whaddon Road after spending the first half of the season with The Valiants.
The 34-year-old initially joined Martin Foyle's side in the summer after bringing an end to an eight-year spell with Bristol City.
He has signed a contract until the end of the season with the Gloucestershire-based outfit and completes John Ward's pursuit of his former charge, whom he managed when he was Bristol City manager.
"I might have come here in the summer and with hindsight, it might have been the best thing then," Bell told Cheltenham's official website.
"But, I had several clubs in for me at the time and you always want to play at the highest level.
"Whatever, I'm happy to be here at Cheltenham now and really looking forward to the challenge.
"I know John Ward well and have done for more than eight years. I know him, what his teams are all about and that's why I'm here."
