Gillingham have released Simon King, Garry Richards and Jo Kuffour at the end of their contracts.

Popular defender King was the club's longest-serving player having moved to the Priestfield Stadium from Barnet for £200,000 in 2007. The 29-year-old made 112 appearances in his five seasons in Kent, scoring three goals. Fellow centre-half Richards joined in January 2008 and played 122 times, scoring six goals. Striker Kuffour arrived in October, initially on loan, before signing a permanent deal in January. He scored nine goals in 31 appearances this season. Their departures take the number of released players to eight after Curtis Weston, Danny Spiller, Dennis Oli, Matt Lawrence and Dean Rance left the club a fortnight ago.
