Scott: We were the better team

Rotherham boss Andy Scott insists his side deserved more following the goalless draw with Gillingham in League Two.

The Millers thought they had taken the lead in the 38th minute at Priestfield on Tuesday night after Lewis Grabban found the net, but referee Andy Woolmer saw the use of a hand and booked the forward. Gillingham had chances of their own before then with Jo Kuffour and Curtis Weston both firing wide, while Rotherham came close as well in the second half, through Grabban again and Alex Revell. "The lads are absolutely gutted that they didn't win and that is a measure of where we are and shows how far we have come," said Scott. "Early in the season we may have been hanging on for a point but they were the team who were happy to hear the final whistle. "I think the other side are going to be sitting there after the game thinking they are very lucky to have come out with a point. "We were clearly the better team and especially with the way we played in the second-half. We dominated the last half an hour and how we have only come away with a point is a mystery. Sometimes you just need that bit of luck which we didn't get. We did everything to win the game but just couldn't get over the line."
