Gillingham striker Adam Birchall is ahead of schedule in his recovery from surgery on his cruciate knee ligaments.
Hard work in the gym has enabled Birchall to jump on his bike and pedal to greater fitness.
"I'm a little bit ahead of schedule and the medical staff say they are really happy about that," he told Kentnews.co.uk.
"The gym progress at Priestfield has been so good. Everyone is coming up with different ideas to keep it fresh for me.
"I'm not going to say how far ahead I am but it is looking good.
"Every couple of weeks I've got something new to do and I find that exciting."
