Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler revealed the club is less focused on finding a new striker after their good season start.
The Gills had targeted a new forward to play alongside Danny Kedwell, after new signing Adam Birchall picked up a serious knee injury in pre-season.
But now that Gillingham have made their best start to a league season in 16 years, winning three and drawing one of their first four league games, Hessenthaler is less concerned.
He told BBC Radio Kent: "Obviously Adam's injured and we need to bring another striker in.
"But with the start we've had I think the chairman's in no rush.
"We've got Dennis (Oli) champing at the bit, Kedwell of course, and Stefan Payne to come back after a virus."
