Skysports.com understands that Gillingham have won the race to sign Dover Athletic hot-shot Adam Birchall.
The Gills had been vying with the likes of AFC Wimbledon and Swindon Town to land the non-league striker.
Birchall enjoyed a season to remember last time around with an incredible 45 goals during the campaign.
Gillingham's initial offer was rejected but they returned with an improved bid which was accepted by Dover.
Ex-Arsenal man Birchall was keen on a Priestfield Stadium move and he has signed a three-year deal with the League Two side.
