Brewers snap up Palmer

Chris Palmer has become Burton's second summer signing after agreeing a two-year deal at the Pirelli Stadium.

The midfielder, 27, turned down a new contract at League Two rivals Gillingham to join Cleveland Taylor at Albion. "Chris is a player I have been chasing for two years now, I really like the boy," Brewers boss Paul Peschisolido told the club's official website. "He is experienced but what I really like about him is that he can play four or five different positions. When you don't have the biggest squad it is important to have players like that. "He can play right side or left and his delivery into the box is possibly the best in the league. He has good quality and although he didn't play the entire season at Gillingham last season, he still had more assists than anyone else down there. "I am really excited about this signing and I am pleased to have got him to the football club."
