Captain Barry Fuller insists Gillingham can take the criticism dished out by fans following their dismal form.
The Gills have won just three of their 16 games in League Two so far this season, and were knocked out of the FA Cup by Blue Square Bet South side Dover a fortnight ago.
Fuller told Radio Kent: "The fans pay money, good money, to come and see us. They are entitled to their opinion."
He added: "It is hard to take as a player, but you've got to be strong and brave enough to take it. If you can't, you're in the wrong game."
