Gillingham midfielder Danny Spiller has been ruled out of action for two weeks with an Achilles injury.

The 28-year-old, who returned to the Priestfield on a free transfer in the summer, has started all 12 matches for the Gills this season, scoring two goals. Manager Andy Hessenthaler confirmed the player's absence on the club's official website "Danny Spiller is out for two weeks," he said. "He has a problem with his Achilles tendon, it needs an injection and two weeks rest. "That's a blow because he's been playing so well. Danny is the type of player we need, especially at home because he plays every game at a high tempo."
