Stimson delighted to bring defender to Underhill

Barnet have snapped up Darren Dennehy after beating Gillingham to the signing of the defender. Dennehy was available on a free transfer after his departure from Cardiff City and recently held talks over a permanent move to Gillingham. The 21-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan with the Gills, making 19 appearances, and was expected to move to Priestfield. However, the Republic of Ireland youngster has opted to link up again with Barnet boss Mark Stimson, who was in charge during his loan spell at Gillingham. Stimson is happy to have brought in the centre-half and is confident Dennehy can make an impact during his time at Underhill. "I am delighted to capture the signature of Darren on a permanent basis," Stimson told the club's official website. "I really enjoyed working with him before and his committing to Barnet shows he must like the way I work."
