Teenager gets new QPR deal after breaking into first team

Teenage QPR prospect Josh Parker has been rewarded with a new one-year contract at Loftus Road. As revealed by skysports.com last month, the youngster has done enough to earn a new deal after making the breakthrough into the Rangers first team this season. The versatile 19-year-old, who can play in midfield or defence, made his debut against Barnsley in April. He then came off the bench to feature in the defeat against Newcastle on the final day of the season and Hoops boss Neil Warnock has now challenged the teenager to push on and become a regular in his squad next term.

Great desire

Warnock told the club's official website: "He's versatile, has a great desire and is a very sensible young man. "His challenge now is to play himself into the squad on a regular basis and see where it takes him."
