McParland feels winger is making a mistake in leaving

Brentford are expected to complete the signing of Myles Weston, with Ian McParland feeling the winger is making a mistake in leaving Notts County. Weston has rejected a new contract at Meadow Lane and has been heavily linked with a move to League One new boys Brentford. The Magpies have turned down an offer from the Bees, who are ready to take the deal to a tribunal due to Weston being 21 years old. However, Magpies manager McParland has warned the former Charlton Athletic youngster that he is making the wrong decision in opting to move on. "Myles made tremendous strides last season and if he continues to improve at the same rate, he could develop into a really good player," McParland told the club's official website. "We were looking forward to helping him make that progression, but although we made him a very good offer to stay, it seems he no longer wants to play for us. "I haven't had a call from Myles to say so, but we are not expecting him to report for training with the other lads tomorrow morning."
