Stimson looks to add new faces

Gillingham are running the rule over five trialists as they look to add fresh faces to their squad. Marcus Haber, Albert Jarrett, Tyron Anthony, Roland Benedict and Trevor Benjamin were all handed a run out for the Gills' reserves on Wednesday. Jarrett caught the eye in a 2-1 defeat to Southampton, while Benjamin got himself on the scoresheet. Haber is a Canadian U23 international striker who progressed through the youth ranks at Dutch club Groningen, while Jarrett is a Sierre Leone international winger who has previously been on the books of Wimbledon, Brighton and Watford. Meanwhile, much-travelled striker Benjamin is hoping to secure a second spell at Priestfield after playing four games for the club during a loan spell from Leicester back in the 2003/04 season. Gillingham have begun the new season in impressive fashion, losing just once in their opening five fixtures, but boss Mark Stimson remains keen to bolster his squad with the prospect of a gruelling campaign ahead.
