Downing considering move for striker

Former Hereford striker Trevor Benjamin has been invited to Cheltenham for a trial. The striker, who also spent five years at Leicester earlier in his career, was released by the Bulls at the end of last season. He spent some of the summer training with Chester but failed to earn a deal. Cheltenham manager Keith Downing has now decided to cast his eye over the 29-year-old and may opt to offer him a contract. The Robins lost 4-2 to Northampton in their League One opener on Saturday but beat Southend 1-0 in the Carling Cup in midweek.
