Youngster happy with decision to join Blackpool

Joe Martin says it was a 'no-brainer' to leave Tottenham Hotspur in order to join Blackpool. The teenage midfielder has linked up with the Championship club on a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee. He finished last season on loan at Bloomfield Road, but had been offered a new deal to stay with Spurs. However, aware of the competition for a place in Juande Ramos' first-team squad, Martin feels his career will be best served at Blackpool. "It was always going to be hard to get into the first team at Tottenham, but hopefully coming to Blackpool will give me an opportunity to play first-team football at a good club," Martin told the club's official website. "They (Spurs) offered me a new deal, but I wasn't really too keen on staying there. "The opportunities of first-team football are limited and I want to get some experience and play regularly in the first team, so it was a bit of a no-brainer for me."
