Nigerian eyeing a return to Gigg Lane

Defender Efe Sodje hopes to secure a permanent move to League Two outfit Bury after being told he is surplus to requirements at relegated Gillingham. If he gets his wish it would mean a quick return to Gigg Lane after he spent nearly three months on loan there at the end of the season. While his wage demands could prove a problem, the Nigerian would love to re-join the Shakers and will be speaking to manager Alan Knill to try and secure a move. He told the Bury Times: "I'll be speaking to the gaffer over the next week and we will see what happens.

50/50

"It's 50/50 at the moment because I still have a contract with Gillingham but I have enjoyed my time here (at Bury). "I'd love to join Bury because the manager at Gillingham has told me that he doesn't want me to play for them. "It's my future, so I have to find out what I can do."
