Lee Frecklington has agreed a new two-year contract extension with Lincoln City.
The midfielder is currently recovering from an ankle injury picked up against Accrington Stanley on 12th February, but he is considered a key part of the League Two club's future and has now been tied down until 2011.
He had been the subject of two enquiries from Peterborough during the January transfer window, but after making 32 appearances for the Imps in all competitions this season his decision to stay has come as a welcome relief to all concerned.
"I see Lee as a big part of my plans for the future here at Lincoln City and I'm delighted that an agreement has been reached," Peter Jackson told the club's official website.
Brown trial
Frecklington could have a new midfield partner on his return from injury as Aaron Brown has joined the club on trial from Gillingham.
Brown has not made an appearance for the Gills since being placed on the transfer list following a dismal display in a Johnstone's Paint Trophy tie against MK Dons in January.
It was reported that he had then been offered a financial settlement to leave the club, but that boss Mark Stimson later withdrew the deal.
Now with an opportunity to link up with former Gills coach Iffy Onoura, who he also played under during a spell at Swindon, Brown will be hoping to bring an end to an unhappy six-month spell at Priestfield.
Hand exit
While Brown will be hoping to secure a move to the Imps, fellow midfielder Jamie Hand has been shown the exit door at Sincil Bank.
Despite only joining from Chester back in August, Hand has moved to Blue Square Premier side Oxford United on loan until the end of the season.
The deal represents the former England Youth International's second stint with the U's after a previous spell on loan from Watford in 2004.
