Gills in last bid for Jarvis

Gillingham have made one final attempt to persuade Matt Jarvis to remain at Priestfield.

Gillingham have made one final attempt to persuade star winger Matt Jarvis to remain at Priestfield.

Jarvis, 21 later this week, is out-of-contract in the summer and has thus far rejected all offers of a new deal.

Gills chairman Paul Scally has been left far from happy with the situation, but he has made another bid to try and keep him.

"We've had a real good go at keeping him and we've made him a further improved offer," Scally told the Kent Messenger.

"There's always hope. We've done as much as we can do as a club and it's now up to Matt."

Jarvis turned down a £650,000 move to Nottingham Forest in March, opting to see out of the remaining three months of his contract at Gillingham.
