MK Dons boss Martin Allen has told skysports.com he is resigned to losing star striker Izale McLeod.
The 22-year-old has hit 21 goals this season sparking interest from a host of clubs including Manchester City, Norwich and Derby.
"I've no doubt he will probably be leaving in the summer," said Allen.
"We made a promise to each other at the start of the season that was that and we were both committed to the cause, and that we would review things as we went on. He has stuck to that brilliantly.
"I thought I'd lose him in the January transfer window, though luckily that has passed and he is still here and still scoring goals, but I don't doubt the speculation will start once the season is over."
McLeod's temperament has been brought into question after three dismissals and six yellow cards this season.
"Izale is a tenacious and difficult forward, and it is that tenacity that has made him the prolific front-man he is," added Allen.
"I'd never dream of taking that out of his game, I just wonder how many goals he would have clocked up now had he not been forced to serve those suspensions."
Meanwhile, Allen has confirmed Ben Chorley no longer figures in his plans at the National Hockey Stadium.
The 24-year-old is currently on loan at Gillingham and Allen says he could make the move permanent in the summer.
