A debut goal from Patrick Agyemang was enough to give Gillingham a 1-0 victory over ten men Brafford.
Agyemang joined The Gills from Wimbledon to replace Marlon King, and started with a bang by grabbing the winner for his new side.
Danny Spiller gave the forward the ball, and Agyemang raced free before curling the ball past the despairing dive of Alan Combe.
It was the highlight of a tight affair, which saw Bradford battle manfully but fail to get an equaliser.
Ronnie Wallwork had a good opportunity for The Bantams but pulled his shot wide on 36.
Any chance of an equaliser shrunk when Combe was dismissed for an altercation with the referee over a foul by Darius Henderson.
