Crewe boss Steve Davis hailed Vadaine Oliver's great potential after the striker signed for the club from Lincoln.

The Alex boss expressed delight at completing his first summer signing following Oliver's successful medical on Monday. "Vadaine is a player we have watched for a while and he has had a very good year with Lincoln," the former Nantwich boss declared. "He is a really ambitious lad and we are bringing him in to develop him and make him an even better player. "He has a similar record to that of Mathias (Pogba) when he was at Wrexham and, if he can make that sort of impact, we would be delighted." The 21-year-old former Sheffield Wednesday forward arrives at the Alexandra Stadium following a successful season in Lincolnshire where he managed 14 goals in 41 appearances.
