Crewe's Matt Tootle has thanked boss Steve Davis for reviving his career.
The defender, 22, struggled for form before Davis joined the Railwaymen last November, since when the club have gained promotion to League One. Tootle is now back enjoying playing football with Davis at the helm. He told the Crewe Chronicle: "Steve has been terrific with me. He helped me through a tough time. "When he took over I wasn't playing well or enjoying my football anymore. I hated getting up in the morning. "Since then, he has changed it and my performances have got better and I am enjoying football again. I'm really fit and playing well."
