Davis team-talk rallies Crewe

A half-time rollicking from boss Steve Davis was behind Crewe's fightback from two goals down in a 3-2 win over Colchester.

Colchester were in the driving seat at the break thanks to goals from Freddie Sears and Ian Henderson. But after Davis fired some home truths at his under-performing players at the interval, Lauri Dalle Valle, Luke Murphy and Mathias Pogba all netted to earn Crewe their first back-to-back league wins of the season. Davis said: "That was the best half-time talk I've ever given. I wasn't calm, but I didn't have to say much. I just asked them if they wanted to be a relegation team or a team in the top half of the table. "Nobody said a word and in the second half they showed every one what they wanted to be and I was delighted with their response. "I wasn't calm. I don't do hairdryer treatment, but it was as near to hairdryer as you are going to get from me and they knew it."
