Davis salutes Pogba power

Crewe boss Steve Davis hopes Mathias Pogba is the man to add some force to the Gresty Road outfit's famous finesse.

The 21-year-old striker has made a positive impression since signing from Wrexham for a nominal fee this summer, netting three times in as many pre-season games. Davis is excited by the attributes Pogba could bring to his forward line, while accepting he is far from the finished product. "Mathias's thumping header against Quorn wasn't really what you'd think of as a Crewe goal," the Alex manager told The Sentinel. "He's a powerful guy and he's difficult to stop once he's on his way. "He's been good in the first couple of friendlies. He's been a real handful. "He's still doing things that I don't want him to do, but on the whole he's doing alright and he will improve the more we work with him."
