Crewe boss Steve Davis has revealed the club are no closer to agreeing a 12-month contract extension with striker Ajay Leitch-Smith.
An offer is on the table for Leitch-Smith, but the 22-year-old is keen to assess his options. Davis has not demanded a decision from Leitch-Smith by a certain date, but would ideally like to know where his future lies within a fortnight. "I have spoken to Ajay and there are one or two things he would like to iron out and that is his prerogative, but I won't let it drag on too long," the manager told Alex's official website. "I haven't set a time limit on it, but I need to know if he wants to stay or not because I will have to make alternative plans. "I would like to see some encouragement within the next two weeks and I hope he chooses to stay because he has improved this season and will improve further."
