Crewe defender Harry Davis has signed a two-year contract extension with the League Two club.

The 20-year-old, son of Alex manager Steve, has established himself as a fixture in the first-team squad at Gresty Road this term, making 37 appearances across a number of positions. On Tuesday night Davis stepped forward to score his fourth goal of the season from the penalty spot as the Railwaymen made it eight games unbeaten with a 1-0 victory over Bradford. His new deal runs until summer 2014, and he told the club's official website: "Like lots of the boys here at Crewe, I have been here since I was a kid and I want to stay here for as long as possible. There wasn't a lot to think about and I was delighted to sign. "I think it is reward for how my season has gone and I am obviously pleased to be offered a new deal. "I am pleased with how many games I have played this season and how my season has gone. I have made a few mistakes along the way, but it is about how you learn from those mistakes and I am feeling more and more confident with every game I play. I think I can be happy with the way things are going."
