Crewe boss Steve Davis has revealed his delight at securing the services of striker Greg Pearson for a further two months.
Pearson has opened up the possibility for a permanent swoop for his services in the summer.
The forward has scored two goals for the Alex since he signed from Burton on an initial one-month deal, which was due to expire after Saturday's trip to Southend.
The 26-year-old will now stay until April 14, and Davis told the club's official website: "I am pleased to have Greg on board with us. We could only do the maximum 93 days so he will miss the last few games of the season but it gives us a chance to have a look at him.
"He is getting fitter because he is working hard and doing extra, but most importantly he is playing games.
"Greg was keen to stay with us and that is a real positive going forward.
"He is out of contract in the summer and this gives us a chance to have a real look at him and perhaps take him at the end of the season."
